28th International Tournament LALIGA FC FUTURES

ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Atlético de Madrid

After last year's brilliant triumph in Maspalomas, the red and white team returns to Gran Canaria to defend the title they worked so hard to win. To do so, they will have a new generation of players who, of course, will continue to internalise the club's philosophy of never giving up. The team from Madrid is one of the most recurrent in LALIGA FC FUTURES and has excelled magnificently in recent editions.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND

Borussia Dortmund

The German team already knows what it feels like to win this tournament. They did it in 2009 on the neighbouring island of Tenerife, and now they face the challenge of repeating the feat in Maspalomas years later. It won't be easy for them in a difficult group, but they are one of the best youth teams in Germany and they will want to prove it. Last season they reached the quarter finals, will they be able to go one step further this time?

FC BARCELONA

FC Barcelona

The ‘azulgranas’ are a true reference in LALIGA FC FUTURES tournaments and travel to Gran Canaria with the intention of regaining a trophy that has eluded them since 2017. There is little to say about La Masia, possibly the best football factory in the world, and their role in this tournament, where they always demonstrate a high level of football and leadership.

INTER

Inter

The Milan team returns to LALIGA FC FUTURES this season. Inter have not played in an international edition of the tournament organised by LALIGA and the Jose Ramon de la Morena Foundation since 2019, a competition in which the Italians have left great sensations in the past. They will not have it easy in a group in which they will face their compatriots Juventus as well as Valencia CF and the host team, UD Las Palmas; but the ‘Nerazzurri’ are by law one of the best youth teams in world football.

JUVENTUS

Juventus

It’s not the Italians’ first rodeo at LALIGA FC FUTURES and they’ll be back this Christmas to prove it. Last year Juventus lost in the quarter finals to Real Madrid and this time they will try to go one step further with a new generation of talents who want to emulate club legends like Alessandro del Piero or Gianluigi Buffon in the future.

PSG

PSG

The French are one of the most powerful clubs in the world, also at youth level. A large part of the generation that won the senior World Cup in 2018 came from the Parisian youth academy, which is constantly developing talent. Paris Saint-Germain come to LALIGA FC FUTURES to take on some of the best clubs in the world and try to win the international tournament for the first time.

REAL BETIS

Real Betis

The Green and Whites are a well-known face in this Christmas tournament and a clear showcase of lively and vibrant football. They have never won the tournament despite coming close on various occasions, and this could be their chance to make history in LALIGA FC FUTURES. The young Beticos will be looking to defend their badge in Maspalomas.

REAL MADRID

Real Madrid

A year after losing in a spectacular final to Atletico de Madrid, ‘Los Blancos’ return to Maspalomas with the intention of winning the title once again. Real Madrid have won this tournament nine times and will be looking for the tenth in Gran Canaria with a new generation of talents trained in Valdebebas.

SEVILLA FC

Sevilla FC

With a generation of players that reached the final of the Ascale LALIGA FC FUTURES National Tournament at the Estadio de la Ceramica just a few months ago, the Andalusian team is presented in Maspalomas as one of the clear contenders to win the title in this international edition. Great talents of the Andalusian first team have already passed through this tournament and that is the mirror in which this generation wants to look at itself in order to succeed.

UD LAS PALMAS

UD Las Palmas

Once again, the host team will fill the stands of the Maspalomas sports complex with excitement. In the last edition, the yellow team fought out two giants such as Sevilla FC and Olympique de Marseille in the group stage and only penalties in their quarter-final against Rayo Vallecano prevented them from playing what would have been a historic semi-final in front of their home fans. Their hopes remain the same this time around and they will once again want to do well against some of the best youth teams in world football.

VALENCIA CF

Valencia CF

The Valencians swept the 31th edition of the Ascale LALIGA FC FUTURES National Tournament held at the Estadio de la Cerámica last June, beating all the LALIGA EA SPORTS youth teams and achieving a well-deserved title, with a stellar Sergio Rodríguez. Now they are aiming higher and will also be looking to win the International Tournament in Maspalomas. The ‘che’ team wants to repeat their only win so far in this international tournament, the one they achieved in 2014 in Tenerife, and they have plenty of quality to do so.

VILLARREAL CF

Villarreal CF

If there is one thing that LALIGA FC FUTURES has shown over the years, it is that the Yellow Submarine are one of the best youth teams in Spain. The groguets are always among the favourites to win this competition, and although last year things did not go well for them in Gran Canaria, new talents have arrived to try to go further this time. Villarreal is an inexhaustible source of talent - will we see the next Pau Torres in Maspalomas?

ATHLETIC CLUB

Athletic Club

The Lezama youth academy also wants to make its mark in Maspalomas. Local talent is the base of the Basque club and this new generation of very young players will try to show in the tournament that they have the potential to one day become talents like players who also came out of their youth categories such as the Williams brothers.

GIRONA FC

Girona FC

The Catalan team is making its debut in the international edition of LALIGA FC FUTURES and will undoubtedly be full of enthusiasm to do well in the tournament. An incredible 2023/24 campaign from Girona FC’s first team, in which they finished in a historic third place in LALIGA EA SPORTS, will be a mirror to look into for the youngsters.

ORLANDO CITY

Orlando City

With a short club history at present, the American club has established itself amongst the best in the United States and has already been part of LALIGA FC FUTURES. They played the last edition of the international tournament in Orlando in June and now travel to Gran Canaria to defend their honour in Spain. The Americans will face a tough group with Real Madrid, Real Betis and Borussia Dortmund.

CA PEÑAROL

CA Peñarol

We’ll be receiving one of Uruguay’s best clubs. Since their founding, Peñarol has been a benchmark in football in its country and in the whole of Latin America. Now they face a huge challenge in Europe against some of the best clubs in the world. They will face three EA SPORTS LALIGA teams in the group stage. How far will the Uruguayans be able to go?
