For football fans in Spain, attention turns to the Spanish national team this week as it’s the November international break and there are no LALIGA EA SPORTS fixtures for the next couple of weeks. The focus will be on the international fixtures, as Spain visit Denmark for a game on Friday November 15th in Copenhagen and then host Switzerland in Tenerife three days later.
Head coach Luis de la Fuente has announced his squad list, which contains many of the same faces who helped the country win Euro 2024 at the same time as introducing rising talents to continue the team’s evolution. This time, two LALIGA EA SPORTS youngsters have made headlines by earning their first call-ups to the senior squad, which is the case for FC Barcelona’s Marc Casadó and Athletic Club’s Aitor Paredes.
For Marc Casadó, this call-up is a reward for his spectacular performances with FC Barcelona this season, as he has been a starter in nine out of 13 LALIGA fixtures, while participating in 11 total. The Catalan footballer has earned the trust of Hansi Flick and is continuing to grow. This league campaign, he has provided three assists so far, one of them in ELCLASICO at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.
Given the position he plays, he’ll be filling in for the national team for the injured Rodrigo Hernández, the recent Ballon d’Or winner, joining Martín Zubimendi in that position. With his ability to press high up the pitch, take quick touches and set up the forward players, he should fit perfectly in Luis de la Fuente’s system.
Meanwhile, Aitor Paredes has made the squad given his good play in the centre of Athletic Club’s back line. Although he started off the 2024/25 LALIGA EA SPORTS season with an injury, missing the second and third matchdays, he has played a lot since then and been a starter every time he has played. Impressively, his team have only lost one of those matches in which he has participated. Furthermore, the defender scored a goal in the game against UD Las Palmas. The partnership he has formed with Dani Vivian is among the most effective in LALIGA and both players are in the national team squad.
There are 15 LALIGA EA SPORTS players on Luis de la Fuente’s list
The other LALIGA players who join Marc Casadó and Aitor Paredes in the latest list from Luis de la Fuente are: Alex Remiro, Óscar Mingueza, Dani Vivian, Martín Zubimendi, Dani Olmo, Pedri, Álex Baena, Bryan Gil, Ayoze Pérez, Nico Williams, Mikel Oyarzabal, Yeremy Pino and Bryan Zaragoza. Also called up was Lamine Yamal, but a blow to his ankle means he has to miss this international break, with his place taken by Bryan Gil, who has, just like Bryan Zaragoza, earned the trust of the coach. These two youngsters are also performing well in Spain’s top division, while the others are all regular members of the national team set-up.
