Valencia CF have maintained their winning ways early in the season with a 3-0 victory over Córdoba CF. Paco Alcácer, José Gayà and Sofiane Feghouli provided the goals on a night that turned into a celebration for the Mestalla faithful.
The home side steamrollered the first half and made their intentions clear early on in the match. The orange siege on the Andalusian goal reaped its rewards as Paco Alcácer, with a glancing header, put his team ahead after 22 minutes. The visitors were still reeling from the first goal when José Luis Gayà sent the Mestalla into raptures as he found the net with a left-foot shot from the edge of the box to make it two.
It was a similar story in the second half and Valencia soon had even more to celebrate. With the constant force of the fans behind them, the home side made use of their wingers to unpick Córdoba’s plans. The ploy resulted in the third goal of the night, this time from Sofiane Feghouli, who rifled one in off the post sealing victory for Valencia. The win leaves Nuno Espírito’s men level on points with FC Barcelona and Sevilla CF at the top of the table.
