The upcoming duel between Real Sociedad and Real Betis in Matchday 15 of LALIGA EA SPORTS is a very intriguing matchup, one between two teams fighting to qualify for Europe and involving multiple players who have represented both clubs. As such, Real Betis will enter this matchday Willian José, Claudio Bravo, Juanmi and Diego Llorente have played important roles at both of these institutions.

In the case of Claudio Bravo and Sergio Canales, they’ve each made over 300 appearances across these two entities. The Chilean goalkeeper, to be exact, made 311 appearances total for these teams across all competitions, with 237 coming at Real Sociedad and 74 at Real Betis. As for Canales, he played for these clubs on 368 occasions in total, making an impact as he represented Real Betis 207 times and Real Sociedad 161 times.

Another footballer who made almost as many appearances is Willian José, who played exactly 296 times for these two teams, with 170 coming for Real Sociedad and 126 for Real Betis. He enjoyed several brilliant moments for both these clubs. As for players who have featured for both these teams in recent seasons, Juanmi and Diego Llorente will face their former club this coming matchday, with both these players currently in the Real Betis squad. Los Verdiblancos are travelling north in search of three points that could be key in their mission to qualify for European football next season.

A battle for Europe at the Reale Arena

Real Sociedad and Real Betis are both desperate to take the three points in this game, as they’re keen to return to the European qualification positions. Currently, Real Betis are ninth with 20 points, while Real Sociedad are 10th on 18 points. Given that both clubs have gotten used to European qualification in recent seasons, that they’re close together in the table and that they each lost last matchday, against Athletic Club and Valenica CF respectively, this promises to be an intense and thrilling encounter.

In the case of Real Sociedad, their fans will go into this match remembering how the team defeated leaders FC Barcelona in their last home game, turning in one of their best performances of the season. That should give them some confidence, even if they lost the BASQUE DERBY 1-0 on the road last weekend. Meanwhile, Real Betis know that this will be a difficult ground to visit, but that it would be a statement win if they conquer this direct rival for European qualification.

Real Betis’ run of four matches without losing at the Reale Arena in LALIGA EA SPORTS

Curiously, Manuel Pellegrini’s side have had good results at this stadium in recent years. Los Verdiblancos haven’t lost at Real Sociedad’s stadium on their past four visits in LALIGA EA SPORTS, drawing three times and achieving one victory too. You’d have to go back to Matchday 9 of the 2019/20 season for their last defeat at the Reale Arena. Since then, the Andalusian outfit have always managed to pick up at least one point from their trips to San Sebastián. As such, Real Betis will enter this matchday with nothing to fear, and it promises to be a thrilling duel between these two teams.
