The standard of the Primera Iberdrola is constantly on the rise and this continual improvement has seen an increasing number of overseas talents joining the ranks of the Spanish clubs. In the 2019/20 season, a total of 106 foreign imports hailing from no fewer than 39 countries will grace the top tier.
The side with the biggest foreign contingent are the reigning champions, Atletico Madrid, whose 12 non-Spanish stars will fly the flag for 10 different countries. Coming in behind Atleti in these standings are Sevilla FC, who boast 10 foreign footballers, followed by Sporting Huelva's nine-strong cohort.
Meanwhile, Athletic Club are the only top-flight outfit with a squad made up entirely of players born in Spain. As for the best represented countries, Brazil lead the way with 12 foreigners, whilst nine Argentines will strut their stuff in the forthcoming Primera Iberdrola campaign.
