Levante UD and Getafe CF square off on Saturday in a Liga BBVA matchday 34 clash.
The Valencian team, who currently lie mid-table with 40 points, are looking to cement their place in the championship next year as soon as possible and if they win this weekend they will be very close to achieving their goal. They will certainly have to fight hard for victory though, given the absence of suspended defender Nikos Karampelas and midfielder Andreas Ivanschitz, who is injured. The granotas’ coach, Joaquín Caparrós, highlighted the importance of the game: "It’s true that Getafe have fewer points, but we are in need of points and we have to transmit that need to the playing field".
They will be met there by the azulones, who are currently in a delicate situation in the competition; they occupy the relegation zone with 31 points. Cosmin Contra will be confident of a win in the Estadio Ciutat de València that will keep alive his dream of salvation. The Romanian coach, who will have to make do without suspended midfielder Ángel Lafita, underlined that this is a "crucial" match for his team. "It’s a ‘final’ and we have to play it as such. I hope to see a positive reaction from the players", said the manager of the team from the capital.
