Real Zaragoza earned their third straight win by downing Córdoba CF 2-1 in the 17th round of Liga Adelante fixtures thanks to a 93rd minute winner from substitute José Mari Martín-Bejarano.
Córdoba had the chance to take the lead after only 46 seconds when Álvaro González’s slip let in Uli Dávila, however Leo Franco was able to make the save at the last moment. The Mexican then had another opportunity after half an hour, but the Argentine goalkeeper kept him at bay once again.
Diego Rico opened the scoring from an indirect free kick taken by José María Movilla, the left back scoring from close range after 39 minutes. The game’s outstanding player Uli Dávila then levelled up proceedings from a Germán Pacheco cross in the 73rd minute, and late on substitute José Mari sent the Romareda into raptures with a drive that beat Sauizar in the 93rd minute of play.
Paco Herrera’s side have now won their last three games and sit just outside the playoff places in seventh. Córdoba remain in mid-table, one win away from the playoffs and five from the relegation places.
