Club legend Iago Aspas signs two-year extension at RC Celta

More big news out of RC Celta this week as the club announced that Iago Aspas has renewed his contract until 2026, committing to two more seasons with the side from Vigo

The captain remains at the heart of the Galician club's plans and has thrilled fans in a strong start to the season. They sit just two points off from a Conference League spot, six from the Europa League, and comfortably clear of relegation worries.

A true club legend, Aspas has made 509 appearances, scoring 210 goals and providing 82 assists, cementing his status among RC Celta’s greatest ever players alongside the likes of Alexandr Mostovoy. In LALIGA EA SPORTS, he has played 373 games, scoring 161 goals and 68 assists, making him one of the top 20 scorers in LALIGA history.

Although Aspas had brief stints with Liverpool and Sevilla FC, his best performances have always been with his boyhood club. Among his many highlights was a near run to the Europa League final in 2016/17, a campaign in which the Galicians fell just short, knocked out by eventual winners Manchester United in the semi-finals.
