Sevilla’s Russian international Denis Cheryshev will be out for six weeks after suffering a grade II-III tear in his left hamstring against Rayo Vallecano.
The Real Madrid CF academy graduate, who was making his Liga BBVA debut for Sevilla against Paco Jémez’s side, had to be taken off with the match barely fifteen minutes old.
Another player to take a knock against the side from Madrid was central midfielder Stéphane M’Bia, who took a knock to his big toe. Initial tests show the Cameroon international hasn’t broken anything, however more will be known about the extent of his injury on Monday.
Both Fernando Navarro and José Antonio Reyes are continuing to recover from their injuries. The defender Navarro suffered a groin strain, whilst midfielder Reyes continues with a specific training schedule to build up strength in his left leg.
Sevilla, who got their first win of the campaign against Rayo, now have five points from six games in Liga BBVA.
