Ante Budimir is becoming even more of a CA Osasuna legend with each passing week. The Croatian striker is clearly one of the Pamplona-based club’s greatest ever players, with Budimir’so Andonegui, who scored 57 goals in 131 matches for the Navarrese club. The Croatian has reached that same landmark in 146 matches for CA Osasuna and now has a total of 70 goals and nine assists in 181 matches across his LALIGA career.

This season in LALIGA EA SPORTS, he is the fourth-highest scorer in the league with 13 goals, tied with Raphinha and trailing only Kylian Mbappé (17) and Robert Lewandowski (19). He is one of the most lethal strikers in Spanish football. In the 2023/24 LALIGA season, he scored 17 goals—an impressive tally for his team and the best personal record of his career. With 13 matches remaining, he is just four goals away from surpassing that milestone.

The Croatian arrived at CA Osasuna in 2020 from RCD Mallorca, with whom he played 57 games, scoring 19 goals and contributing four assists. Since joining Los Rojillos, he’s taken a big step forward in his career, scoring 63 goals and providing seven assists in 165 games played in all competitions.

The top scoring foreigner in CA Osasuna history

The Croatian striker is not only the all-time top scorer for Los Rojillos in LALIGA EA SPORTS, alongside Sabino Andonegui, but also the highest-scoring foreign player in the club’s history. With the two goals he netted against Athletic Club at San Mamés in the Copa del Rey Round of 16, he surpassed Jan Urban – who previously held the record with 60 goals – to become the club’s all-time leading foreign scorer.

He wasn’t even aware of the record until after the match when he was told during a post-game interview. His response? “Sometimes things happen in life without you even knowing. I’m proud to be part of a club with over 100 years of history. I’m happy that my two goals helped secure the win.”

Taking into account goals scored in all official competitions, Budimir is also well into the top five in the club’s all-time scoring charts. He is only surpassed by Patxi Iriguíbel, José Manuel Echeverria, Sabino Andonegui and Julián Vergara, all of them legends in their own right. The Croatian striker is clearly one of the Pamplona-based club’s greatest ever players, with Budimir’s goals helping to write proud chapters of history for CA Osasuna.
