Atlético de Madrid and Getafe CF are the two best defences in Europe’s major leagues

There is always a need to have forwards who can score goals in football, but strong defences are important too. Teams who can keep clean sheets and limit opposition chances always have a shot at winning, and there are several LALIGA EA SPORTS sides who fit that description right now. In fact, they’re among the best in Europe at preventing goals. 

Looking across the major European leagues, the two teams with the very best goals against records are Atlético de Madrid and Getafe CF. Los Rojiblancos have only let in 16 goals in 24 league games, a ratio of just 0.66 per game. As for José Bordalás’ charges, they are second domestically and continentally in this ranking, with just 18 goals conceded in 24 matchdays, for a record of 0.75 per game.

There are another pair of Spanish clubs just outside the top 10, taking the 11th and 12th positions, with Real Madrid and Real Sociedad both having given up just 23 goals in 24 matches, also under a goal a game at 0.95 per 90 minutes. 

As well as Real Madrid and Real Sociedad, also entering the top 20 are FC Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano, who have conceded 25 goals in 24 games so far, at just over a goal per game with a ratio of 1.04. In the case of Barça, though, they’re also firing goals in at the end other end at an incredible rate, and are the joint-top-scoring club in Europe’s major leagues with 65 scored, level with Bayern Munich. Rayo Vallecano have roughly the same number of goals scored and conceded, but are a very well-balanced team and are competing high up table in LALIGA EA SPORTS, a competition which clearly has several teams which are difficult to beat.
