After a night full of excitement, in which Spanish football was the main protagonist, comes the time for reflection. Footballers, guests, and all of the protagonists at the LFP Awards Ceremony agreed that the event was a resounding success.

One of those who had a privileged view at the Prince Phillip Congress Centre at the Hotel Auditorium de Madrid was Berta Collado. The ceremony’s presenter, who was an excellent master of ceremonies, was very satisfied with how things went. "Everyone has responded well, there was a lot of talk about it and that’s is a sign that things went well", she said on the LFP official website.

The main stars of the night were the Liga BBVA and Adelante players themselves. Asier Illarramendi, who had to come onstage twice, was one of the happiest people at the event. "I had a great time, I got two prizes that I wasn’t expecting and I’ve been able to share the occasion with my family", said the Real Madrid CF player. RC Celta de Vigo’s goal-getter Charles picked up the award for Best Striker in Liga Adelante during the 2012/13 season thanks to his performances with UD Almería. The Brazilian, trophy in hand, explained how it felt. "It’s an important award because it acknowledges the effort the whole side put in last season. Hopefully this event can happen every year because it’s good for football".

Footballers weren’t the only protagonists of the night. The best Spanish sports men and women were also present at the ceremony. Mireia Belmonte, World and European champion and double Olympic silver medallist presented the prize to Liga BBVA’s best defender. "I was nervous presenting the award, but it was great", said the swimmer. The Spanish female water polo squad, silver medallists at London 2012, were also on hand to present the prize for Breakthrough Player. The ladies said that they were "excited" to be able to perform such an act in front of a large crowd, and lauded the LFP’s big party: "it has been a genuine success".
