Álvaro Vázquez secures win for Getafe

Álvaro Vázquez gave Getafe their first Liga BBVA win of the season, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over Almería in the first game of matchday two.

The first half saw the home side take control of the game, attacking down the sidelines with gusto. Freddy Hinestroza and Sergio Escudero shot from range before Vázquez finally found the back of the net on the stroke of half an hour. On the stroke of half time Jonathan Zongo had the chance to level proceedings, but Vicente Guaita denied him.

The Andalusian side dominated the second half, and went close a number of times. Tomer Hemed might have levelled things up but his finish lacked conviction. The scoreline stayed the same and Getafe held on for all three points.
