Matchday seven of the Liga BBVA started with excitement and goals as Real Valladolid CF and Málaga CF drew 2-2 in the José Zorrilla Stadium.
Neither side dominated the match early on, until the 23rd minute when the first big chance of the match was converted to make it 0-1. The goal was created by the boots of Fernando Tissone, who passed the ball to Roque Santa Cruz, who in turn fired a shot at Diego Mariño. Following the goal, the match was dominated by the visitors and their quick passing, although they were unable to create any clear chances that could have sewn the match up.
Valladolid came in to the second half looking to draw level, something it managed to do after just eight minutes. From a corner whipped in by Patrick Ebert, Javi Guerra used his head to level the score at 1-1. Before Málaga had time to recover from the strike, the home team found the net once more. The goal was similar to the first, this time Ebert's corner was met by the head of Humberto Osorio, who added his name to the scoresheet.
However, the Andalusian outfit did not let their heads drop and in the 76th minute it pulled the match back to 2-2 through Bartlomiej Pawlowski, who tried his luck against Mariño from the centre of the box. Málaga had a chance to take home three points eight minutes from the final whistle, but Mounir El Hamdaoui found the crossbar. The result means that the team from Malaga has now gone five league games without a loss and Valladolid finds itself three points above the relegation zone.
