Villarreal CF won their third match at home after downing Granada CF 3-0. Goals from Bruno Soriano in the first half, followed by Giovani Dos Santos and Tomás Pina in the second sealed the win for The Yellows.
The home side started the game well, controlling the play at their leisure. Despite having all the possession, Marcelino García Toral’s side didn’t make that dominance count with more than one goal. That came after half an hour when Bruno Soriano scored a pearl with his left foot much to the delight of the Madrigal, however the home side could, and should, have lead by more at half time.
The second half had barely started when Villarreal doubled their advantage, as Giovanni stuck away an inviting ball from the left hand side. After conceding the second goal, Granada manager Lucas Alcaraz looked to find a reaction from the bench, yet it was the side in yellow who sealed the win eight minutes from the end thanks to Tomás Pina’s finish after being played in by Cani. Villarreal move up to third place in the league, awaiting the results of this weekend’s games.
