CF Reus have taken LaLiga 1|2|3 by storm. The Catalans are not only giving a superb account of themselves out on the pitch in their debut campaign at this level – they sit second in the table after 11 rounds of fixtures – but they have also garnered a lot of buzz on social media.
This is thanks to the campaign the club is using to promote its home games, played at the Estadi Municipal de Reus, which features creative posters imitating legendary album covers, in which the Reus players are reimagined as famous rock stars. This groundbreaking, original marketing strategy mixing football and music has yielded great results and gained plenty of plaudits.

So far this term, Queen, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Madness and Nirvana have all provided the inspiration for the club's promotional materials, with the Catalan outfit offering their own particular take on iconic albums, including Queen II, Born to Run, Aladdin Sane, One Step Beyond and Nevermind.

The thing is, there's no sign of Freddie Mercury or Kurt Cobain, and Bowie doesn't even get a look-in. Instead the headline acts have been Edgar Hernandez, Edgar Badia, Jordi Codina and Albert Benito, as the city's top footballing talent get their rock and roll on in a bid to pull in the crowds. We are waiting with bated breath to find out which chord Reus will strike us with ahead of their next home game.
Have a listen to some of the best-recognised songs from these classic albums in the playlist dedicated to Reus on LaLiga's Spotify channel.
