RCD Mallorca and the island's Consell Insular have signed a collaboration agreement through which they will promote football among boys and girls in Mallorca. The agreement establishes a relationship of cooperation with the club in leisure and training activities organised by the Balearic Government, which has also committed to taking part in the promotion and organisation of activities run by the Balearic club and its foundation.
The signing of the agreement took place in the Presidential Box in the Iberostar Stadium, and was attended by María Salom, the President of Consell Insular de Mallorca and Biel Cerdà, the President of RCD Mallorca's Board of Directors in addition to several politicians from the island, and first team players Aki Ienaga and Thomas Teye Partey.
The President of the Board of Directors, Biel Cerdà, stated that "the goal of this relationship is to promote synergy, to work together to boost sport for kids and drive football into every corner of the island". He also said that "we are convinced that working hand in hand guarantees twice the success in the events that we will run under this agreement.
For her part, the President of Consell Insular de Mallorca, María Salom, pointed out that the Government of Mallorca "is responsible for promoting sport and ensuring proper the training of young sportsmen and women".
