CF Reus 0-0 CD Tenerife

A pulsating encounter at the Municipal de Reus somehow ended goalless. Both teams had opportunities to grab all three points, particularly in the second half, but neither could make them count and so the spoils were shared. Tenerife could have got the breakthrough from the penalty spot, only for Antonio Lozano's kick to hit the woodwork. The hosts, for their part, were guilty of wayward finishing on several occasions.

CD Numancia 1-1 Cordoba CF

Cordoba kept up their recent unbeaten run and remained in the mix near the top of the table by claiming a hard-earned draw at Los Pajaritos. Numancia bossed possession practically from beginning to end and forged ahead in the 19th minute through Manu del Moral's tidy finish from a tight angle. The home side had chances to add to their lead, but only went in 1-0 to the good at the break and paid the price when the visitors – who came out with much more intent in the second half – levelled through Caro's header from a corner.

Elche CF 4-4 Nastic

The crowd were treated to a real rollercoaster ride at the Martinez Valero. The Catalans edged their noses in front through Alex Lopez in the 11th minute, but they did not get to savour their advantage, with Nino striking twice in the space of seven minutes to turn the tables and put Elche in the driving seat. The other five goals came after half-time. Javier Matilla's stunning free-kick gave the hosts a two-goal cushion, but Nastic were by no means done yet. Sergio Tejera's spot-kick (66') reduced the deficit before Alex Lopez (69') equalised and Jean Luc (74') fired the visitors back in front. There was still time for another twist in the tale, however, with Albert Dorca's 78th-minute screamer rescuing a point for Elche.

R. Valladolid CF 2-0 AD Alcorcon

Jose was the star of the show as R. Valladolid stopped their rot, chalked up their third win of the campaign and climbed up to 15th in the table. Paco Herrera's troops took to the pitch clearly determined to give their fans something to shout about and it was not long before they had done just that. A mere five minutes were on the clock when Jose raced on to a ball over the top and smashed home. By the 11th minute the young winger had doubled his and his team's tally with another emphatic finish. The result was never in doubt from that point, with R. Valladolid comfortably holding on to end a five-game losing streak.

Getafe CF 2-0 UCAM Murcia CF

New Getafe boss Jose Bordalas tasted victory in his debut outing in the Coliseum dugout, building on the draw secured in his first fixture in charge. The Madrilenian outfit were gifted the lead by an own goal shortly after the break and then made certain of maximum points through a crashing Alejandro Faurlin header a few minutes later. Despite the result, which saw their unbeaten run stopped at seven matches, UCAM once again showcased their quality and could have seized the initiative before finding themselves trailing. Ultimately, though, it was the Azulones who capitalised on their chances and clinched their second win of the season.

Sevilla Atletico 2-1 R. Zaragoza

The Andalusians also recorded their second triumph of the campaign on Saturday evening, prevailing in an encounter that they dominated from the off. However, it was Zaragoza who drew first blood at the Sanchez-Pizjuan, with loanee Juan Muñoz coming back to haunt his parent club by breaking the deadlock 10 minutes into the second half, although he refrained from celebrating. Nevertheless, Diego Martinez's men did not let their heads drop despite going behind against the run of play and fought back to capture the spoils. Ivan Lopez, aka Ivi, was the hero for the hosts, bagging a brace with two excellent strikes.

R. Oviedo 2-0 Rayo Vallecano

Oviedo made it three victories for the season, and two on their own patch at the Carlos Tartiere, and leapfrogged their beaten opponents to move into seventh place in the process. The three points were no less than the Asturians deserved for a dominant display in which local icon Michu had a hand in both goals. First the veteran released Miguel Linares into space for the opener, in the 35th minute, and then he was felled for a penalty that Toche drilled home to settle the contest with 20 minutes to go.

CD Mirandes 2-2 CD Lugo

These two sides played out what proved to be a game of two halves at Anduva. The opening 45 minutes belonged to a Lugo side whose dominance saw them race into a two-goal lead. With 13 minutes on the clock, Joselu fired home a right-footed effort from inside the box to put the Galicians into the ascendancy. Barely five minutes had elapsed when Alfonso doubled the visitors' advantage following a fine assist from Antonio Campillo, as Lugo went in two goals to the good. The second half was all about Mirandes, who secured a point courtesy of goals from Maikel and Iker Guarrotxena, as honours deservedly ended even in Miranda de Ebro.

UD Almeria 2-2 Levante UD

Levante retain top spot after taking a point from their trip to Almeria. The visitors, who were today sporting a shirt to mark the Day of the Valencian Community, fell behind after Quique tucked home a 16th-minute penalty. The Andalusians came inches away from doubling their advantage on 32 minutes when they were denied by the upright. The second half saw Levante stage a stirring comeback, with Roger restoring parity early on, before Jason handed the visitors the lead. However, there was still time for further drama, as Quique struck his second of the game to secure a share of the spoils.

RCD Mallorca 3-0 SD Huesca

There was one name on everyone's lips come the final whistle at the Iberostar Estadio, after Mallorca's Brandon bagged himself a hat-trick. It didn't take long for the Islanders to make their early dominance tell. Indeed, with just four minutes on the clock, the home faithful were up off their seats to toast Brandon's first and the striker was at it again just two minutes later. However, the forward wasn't content with his two-goal haul and went on to notch his third of the afternoon on 71 minutes to complete his hat-trick and seal a comfortable victory for his side.

Cadiz CF 0-0 Girona FC

This encounter ended goalless at the Estadio Ramon de Carranza, as the two sides served up a hard-fought and fair stalemate. This result sees the Catalans extend their unbeaten run to four games and moves them up into 6th, whilst a point leaves Cadiz lingering in 19th.
