- They have achieved the greatest feat in the club's 95-year history. SD Amorebieta have shown that belief and hard work are all you need to achieve your goals. The Basque outfit had the smallest budget of all of the teams competing in the play-offs for promotion to LaLiga SmartBank and will spend next season in Spain's silver tier.
- The modest side from Vizcaya hail from the smallest town in the entire competition with just 19,500 inhabitants. In fact, the entire population of the town of Amorebieta would not even fill the stadiums of some of their LaLiga SmartBank opponents.
- Amorebieta secured promotion to the second tier of Spanish football after dispatching CD Badajoz with a squad composed entirely of players born in the Basque Country.
- The only player from the Vizcaya-based outfit to have featured in LaLiga Santander is Mikel Saizar. The Basque goalkeeper is living proof that dreams can be achieved through hard work. At 32 years of age, the shot-stopper made his debut with Cordoba CF in the 2015/16 season against Valencia CF.
- What's more, Saizer and many other players from the squad juggle football with other professions. The Basque goalie works on several fronts, tending to his family's patisserie in Tolosa in the morning before taking part in training with Amorebieta and then heading over to run the SD Eibar Women's goalkeeping training sessions. Other examples include the teachers Orozco, Larrucea and Obieta, and Ekaitz Molina who works at a gym.
