Five things you might didn’t know about Iberostar Stadium

• It was built for the celebration of the Universiade Palma de Mallorca 1999. It replaced the old Lluís Sitjar stadium, which had been the RCD Mallorca stage since 1945.

• The first official League match was played on August 21, 1999 with the clash between RCD Mallorca and Real Madrid with a 1-2 win for whites.

• The first goal in the history of the club "bermellón" in their new stadium was scored by striker Carlitos. 

• It was the arena of the team's debut in the UEFA Champions League, in which faced Arsenal, Schalke 04 and Panathinaikos in the group stage.
• 
  The Spanish national team has played three official matches at the Iberostar Stadium. The most recent was against Belarus on 11 October 2013.
