Five players to watch on Matchday 22 of the Liga BBVA

Giuseppe Rossi (Levante UD)

It's been a long time since Granota fans were as excited with the arrival of a new player. The Italian striker is a January transfer window signing from Serie A's Fiorentina and is a well-known figure in the Liga BBVA. During his time at Villarreal CF, the 28-year-old established himself as a forward to be feared. Last weekend, against UD Las Palmas, Rossi played his first minutes with Levante and he almost scored on his debut with a great solo effort. Giuseppe Rossi is back.

John Guidetti (RC Celta)

The Swedish forward is in great form. His spectacular 30-metre strike put Celta 2-1 up against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Copa del Rey quarter-final during the week. Along with FC Barcelona's Munir, he is the leading scorer in the Cup with five goals. On top of that, he is starting to find his range in the Liga BBVA. In RC Celta's last win, against Levante, he scored twice. He's very much a man of the moment.

Raul Albentosa (Malaga CF)

The Malaga defender returns to Eibar. Albentosa left Los Armeros midway through last season and his departure coincided with the Basque side's slide down the standings. This time, the Valencia-born 27-year-old returns to Ipurua wearing a Málaga CF shirt. He has become an integral part of Javi Gracia's team.

Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid)

The Slovenian goalkeeper has been outstanding this season. After keeping six consecutive clean sheets, the adjectives to define Jan Oblak are exhausted. The Rojiblanco goalkeeper is the rock upon which coach Diego Simeone has built his robust defence, but he faces a new challenge keeping out FC Barcelona's free-scoring forward line at the Camp Nou.

Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad)

Despite the heavy defeat against R. Sporting last weekend, there were some bright points for coach Eusebio. The best news was the return to form of Carlos Vela. The Mexican striker scored his third goal of the season at El Molinon. The Blanquiazul fans and the his coach know the importance of this player for the second half of the season. His improvement in recent weeks makes him one of the players to watch on Matchday 22 of the Liga BBVA.
