In the wake of an agreement reached with Facebook, LaLiga and MEDIAPRO have taken another step forward in their commitment to innovation and novel broadcasting formulas, on this occasion by giving viewers from across 40 countries the chance to watch both legs of the Copa del Rey semi-final clashes between Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona and RC Celta and D. Alaves via LaLiga's official Facebook page (Facebook.com/laliga).

LaLiga and MEDIAPRO are set to stream the semi-final fixtures through LaLiga's official Facebook page (Facebook.com/laliga) throughout the countries in which the matches are not set to be shown by any television broadcasters. This initiative represents a further example of LaLiga's commitment to innovation and takes its place within the organisation's digital development strategy, with one of the goals of the project being to allow Spanish football followers from all corners of the globe to enjoy these games.

Supporters in the following countries will be able to catch every minute of the four semi-final clashes on LaLiga's Facebook page: the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Iceland, Belgium, Russia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Afghanistan, Georgia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Myanmar, Korea, China, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, the Maldives, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Brazil.

Meanwhile, viewers based in Spain will be treated to live coverage of the action on GOL's official Facebook page (facebook.com/goltv.es). This initiative represents a watershed moment in online broadcasting, with GOL set to become the first Spanish broadcaster to offer live coverage of fixtures from a major competition within the European game via the social media channel.

Last season saw LaLiga and beIN SPORTS join forces to stream the Women's First Division game between Atletico and Athletic Club on LaLiga's Facebook page. This broadcast, which was the first game ever to be streamed through Facebook, was followed by over 370,000 unique users in Spain, whilst the number of overall views exceeded the two-million mark.
