Athletic control
Athletic consistently led the sense of danger to the goal defended by Antonio Adán. Besides domain, chances were incessant. The result of this superiority in the game came with the goals of Iñaki Williams, and the best chances, as the two that Raúl García had. One of them crashed into the crossbar and the other was saved by Adán.
Attacking with many players
One of the key of Ernesto Valverde´s scheme was the involvement of many players attacking the opponent's area. A sample of Athletic´s offensive spirit and the improvement that this team has shown in recent days, offered a very risky side but effective.
Iñaki Williams
He was the man of the match. Every time the ball reached his boots the feeling that something was going to happen was latent. He made the difference with two goals scored at the Benito Villamarin. His superb shot in the first goal and the technique showed in the second left a good example of the quality that this player has.
Betis reaction
More with heart than with head, Real Betis pulled courage to go for a goal that would put them back into the match. But circumstances were anything but positive. With a 0-2 on the scoreboard and Athletic kept attacking, Joaquin forced a penalty that Ruben Castro netted to reduce the gap.
Reliable ending
In the final stretch, the match was played between the ideas of each other to conclude with a tremendous shot by Raul Garcia that would mean the final 1-3, making the first away win of the season for the Basque side.
