Team News:
- RCD Espanyol: Javi Fuego (suspended).
- Real Madrid: Keylor Navas, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale (all injured).
Match Facts: Espanyol (15th, 2 pts)
- Quique Sanchez Flores's tenure has got off to a lacklustre start. After falling 6-4 to Sevilla FC in a barnstorming opening fixture, Los Pericos have picked up successive draws in their last two matches, against Malaga CF (2-2) and Real Sociedad (1-1).
- Espanyol will be looking to Gerard Moreno and Pablo Piatti to keep leading the charge and end their winless streak in the process. Both have begun the season in fine form: the Spanish striker is the team's top scorer with three goals, while the Argentinian attacking midfielder has already scored twice for his new club.
Real Madrid (2nd, 9 pts)
- Los Blancos have kicked off the campaign on a roll, with three consecutive LaLiga Santander victories taking them straight to the summit. They will have to extend their perfect record by making it four from four if they are to conclude another matchday at the top of the standings.
- Zinedine Zidane has three major absences to contend with for the trip to Cornella. Keylor Navas has yet to play this term and has been joined on the sidelines again by Cristiano Ronaldo, who has the flu, and Gareth Bale, who is carrying a hip problem.
- Marco Asensio, who spent last season on loan at Espanyol, could therefore start on his return to the RCDE Stadium.
