The players and supporters of FC Barcelona experienced a Sunday fuelled with emotion as they came together to celebrate the second treble in the club’s history. The squad got the festivities underway by boarding an open-top bus for the traditional victory parade, making their way through the city and sharing their success with the fans, who gave them their unconditional backing during the season.

The meeting point on the conclusion of the parade was the Camp Nou, los azulgranas’ stadium. The Liga BBVA, Copa S.M El Rey and UEFA Champions League trophies were the perfect accompaniment as the players were presented one by one to the Barça faithful, and offered the supporters chants and words of thanks throughout the event.

Among those to express their gratitude was coach Luis Enrique, who, amid cheers from the crowd, explained: "We’re stronger with you". And the Catalan side’s boss called for the club’s trophy triumphs to carry on. "We continue to make history, let’s try to make sure it stays that way in the future. I challenge you to keep on supporting the team just as you always have done", he said.

Lionel Messi also took the microphone and, as is so often the case with the ball at his feet, he led the way for Barcelona in their celebrations. "It’s difficult to do this, but we’re going to carry on. We’re going to continue, because this team is raring to keep on winning things. You wanted all three, and here they are", the Argentinian told the club’s fans.

Finally, on his farewell, Xavi Hernández thanked everyone for the 2014/15 season and did not hesitate to declare: "I’ll miss you a lot". "Many thanks to everyone for being here, to the people who turned out for the victory parade, which was amazing, to Luis Enrique, to the staff, to the whole team".
