Four fans from Tanzania, three from Sweden and another three from Hong Kong discovered first-hand what life is like in the Galician city as they took in some of its main tourist sights and were given a private tour of Riazor stadium.
The morning kicked off with a visit to the Deportivo stadium and its facilities. Its dressing rooms, press area, official store, the stadium at pitch side… Unforgettable moments for those international fans.
The fans then enjoyed lunch at 'A la Brasa', the restaurant that often hosts the Deportivo players when they want to enjoy some of Galicia's delicious cuisine. There they got their first taste of some of the region's best known dishes, like empanada gallega (a typical local pasty) and tarta de Santiago (a traditional almond cake).
Having been fed and watered, it was time to visit some of La Coruña's must-see tourist hot spots: from the Tower of Hercules to Maria Pita Square. An entertaining and fun two-hour tour of the city's best sights.
After that it was time to rest, but not for too long, because our fans had a 20:30 booking at Cafeteria International 2, where they were treated to a special dinner in the company of two of Deportivo's most important international supporters' clubs. There, the club's loyal followers taught them the main chants that can be heard around Riazor on match day and related first-hand what it had felt like that night in 2000 when Deportivo won their only Liga BBVA title with a 2-0 win over RCD Espanyol, which came courtesy of goals from Donato and Roy Makaay.
