Today, Thursday 14 July, the gardens of the Italian Embassy in Madrid hosted the launch event of beIN LaLiga, the channel that will broadcast LaLiga and Copa del Rey matches in Spain throughout the 2016/17 campaign. In attendance, among others, were: Javier Tebas, the LaLiga president; Miguel Cardenal, the president of the High Council for Sport (CSD); Jaume Roures, the president of MEDIAPRO; Yousef Mohammed Al-Obaidly, the deputy CEO of beIN Media Group; and the presidents of a wide range of LaLiga and LaLiga2 clubs.

beIN LaLiga will boast an attractive, varied line-up of shows – including in-house productions – offering viewers the best reports, analysis and interviews. The channel will be dedicated to Spanish football 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, screening eight LaLiga games per matchday – these will always feature at least one of Real Madrid or FC Barcelona – and the first league Clasico of the campaign, as well as the Copa del Rey.

Furthermore, to make sure fans of the best league in the world don't miss a thing, beIN LaLiga will be watchable in a whole gamut of formats, including on PCs, Macs, iOS and Android devices, PlayStations, Xboxes and smart TVs.

Speaking during the event, LaLiga president Javier Tebas hailed this development, which he said would only further enhance what is "without a doubt" already "the best league in the world, with the best clubs and of course the best presidents." He added that, "We're going to go really far with beIN and are guaranteed every success, even more so with the help of MEDIAPRO, who've known us well for years."

"It's wonderful what Spanish football is achieving," said CSD president Miguel Cardenal. "Football involves many companies and that is something that the government cares a lot about," he stressed in reference to LaLiga and its various agreements with television networks.

Meanwhile, Jaume Roures added that, "What we want to do in collaboration with LaLiga is provide the best images as well as offer the best in sports and leisure entertainment."

Yousef Mohammed Al-Obaidly, for his part, called it "an honour to be able to air matches from the best league in the world." He also thanked LaLiga for its trust.

beIN LaLiga comes courtesy of the deal between MEDIAPRO and beIN Media Group. It will be the only channel in Spain dedicated to Spanish football and offering LaLiga and the Copa del Rey in the best possible quality. The channel and its content will be available through Movistar+, Vodafone, Orange, Telecable, Deion Telecomunicaciones and beIN CONNECT.
