This Thursday saw the LaLiga headquarters play host to an Extraordinary General Assembly. This meeting was attended by representatives from all LaLiga and LaLiga2 clubs with the exception of Sevilla FC and Sevilla Atletico, who voted by proxy, and RC Celta. One particularly notable presence was that of Malaga CF president Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani, whom LaLiga president Javier Tebas thanked for his attendance.

The Assembly served to welcome those clubs that have made the step up to professional football by gaining promotion to LaLiga2: UCAM Murcia CF, CF Reus Deportiu and Cadiz CF. In addition, it was an opportunity to outline more details about LaLiga's strategic plan for the next three seasons and the new organisational structure, including the presentation of Vicente Casado as LaLiga's new managing director of international development.

Furthermore, LaLiga's head of women's football, Pedro Malabia, distributed a report to attendees regarding the strides forward the women's game has made hand in hand with LaLiga, with one key fact cited being the 35% increase in social media followers that clubs in the Women's First Division have posted. On a related note, it was confirmed that LaLiga will continue to support clubs' training and CSR efforts, while Tebas made the most of the occasion to praise Cadiz's decision to create a women's section.

The following statutory reforms were also approved:

- An amendment to articles 28 and 34 of the Articles of Association, and articles 3 and 18 of Book III of the General Regulations, concerning the requirements in order to serve as the LaLiga president or a vice-president, and to represent a club on the LaLiga Delegate Commission. The clubs voted in favour of amending the previous rule whereby only citizens of European Union member states could form part of the Delegate Commission.

- An amendment to article 42 of the Articles of Association concerning the competence of the disciplinary judge in relation to the Regulations on Television Broadcasts (Book XIII of the General Regulations). The judge will now be the sole authority tasked with ruling on any appeals lodged by LaLiga clubs against decisions taken by the LaLiga Control Body for the Administration of Audiovisual Rights under the provisions of the aforementioned Regulations.
