Liga Adelante matchday 13 was a beneficial one for many of the teams at the top of the table. Such is the case for RC Deportivo de La Coruña, who beat the league leaders, RC Recreativo de Huelva, thanks to a goal from Pablo Insua. The Andalusians are still top but the Galician outfit is just three points behind.
CD Lugo also lost its lead over its opponent, Real Murcia CF. The Galicians failed to cash in on their home advantage and Murcia has made up ground and currently occupy the last Liga BBVA promotion playoff position. CD Numancia also stay near the top thanks to goals from Julio Álvarez and Gaffoor in the closing minutes of their match against Real Zaragoza.
It was bad news for Deportivo Alavés, whose defeat in the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium to Real Madrid Castilla means they are now in the relegation zone, while Madrid’s reserves now have their second win of the season but continue to prop up the Liga Adelante table. It was a good weekend for CD Tenerife, whose victory over SD Eibar means they have now played four consecutive matches without tasting defeat and they are one point above the relegation zone.
The best of the rest were Real Jaen CF’s 0-3 goal-fest away to FC Barcelona B and Girona FC’s 1-2 win in the Estadio Municipal de Anduva against CD Mirandés.
