Real Betis will visit Real Madrid in the fourth round of the new LALIGA EA SPORTS campaign for a Sunday night duel between two of the clubs playing in European competition this season and two of the most attack-minded and attractive teams to watch. Curiously, though, four of the past five meetings between these sides in Madrid have ended 0-0, including last season’s league game on the final matchday. Moreover, Real Betis have only lost one of their last seven away games against Real Madrid.
This weekend’s clash will be Kylian Mbappé’s second home game for his new club, after the match against Real Valladolid in which he wasn’t able to find the back of the net. As such, he’ll be especially keen going into this weekend’s duel. This will also be a special match for Isco Alarcón, who was unable to return to the Bernabéu last season after suffering an injury at the end of what was a spectacular campaign in which his revival was one of the storylines of the season. Recovered from the fibula fracture that kept him out during the final stretch of last season, he will be back in Chamartín and looking to show his skills.
Isco is just one of the many talented players involved in this game, with Vinícius, Mbappé, Juanmi and Abde Ezzalzouli all near the top of the LALIGA EA SPORTS dribbling stats for this new season. Furthermore, Los Blancos will be going up against a player who knows the club well, in Diego Llorente, who has been one of the top players for ball recoveries to start this season.
Another interesting duel will be in the dugouts. Carlo Ancelotti and Manuel Pellegrini are two veteran coaches, born in the 1950s, who have a similar style of play based on ball possession and attacking play. These are two coaches who know LALIGA EA SPORTS well and they both have experience of coaching Real Madrid, as the Chilean sat in the Bernabéu hotseat in 2009/10.
Vitor Roque, recently arrived from FC Barcelona, could make his debut for Real Betis in this game, making this a mini kind of ELCLASICO for him. He isn’t the only member of the Real Betis squad with a Barça past, as there are others such as Abde, Marc Bartra, Héctor Bellerín and Rodri. Meanwhile, Los Blancos have Dani Ceballos, the former Real Betis player, in their ranks.
With all of these ingredients, this Real Madrid vs Real Betis match will surely end the curse of the goalless draws. There are so many players across both squads who are capable of scoring and these are two coaches who’ll have attack-minded game plans. This is one of the top fixtures of the LALIGA EA SPORTS season and the fact it comes so early into the new campaign is a treat for all football fans.
