He is 72 years old and has been a club member at Liga Adelante side CD Leganes since the age of seven. His father helped build the first football pitch in the city, which is situated just to the south of the Spanish capital Madrid.
He became hooked on the club and has loyally followed them every weekend since, come rain or shine, and no matter the distances involved.
The only thing missing, he says, is "to see them playing in the Liga BBVA." His name is Pablo Fernandez Garcia, and he is Leganes's club member number one.
Coach Asier Garitano welcomed him at their Estadio Municipal de Butarque for an entertaining, emotionally charged conversation full of memories and words of wisdom. Afterwards, they walked through the club's history together looking at a photographic exhibition: CD Leganes, the Heart of a City.
