The new season of LALIGA FC Pro competitive gaming arrives courtesy of LALIGA and EA SPORTS, bringing together 38 clubs from LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA Hypermotion, as it has done in the last 4 editions.
The exclusive presentation event, held at the LEGENDS museum, The Home of Football, presented by LALIGA, welcomed a hundred fans who were fortunate enough to win invitations through various contests. Attendees had the opportunity to learn first-hand the details of the competition, take photos with DjMaRiiO, one of the most relevant EA SPORTS FC™ content creators in the Spanish-speaking world, and meet professional players such as Chousita from RC Deportivo, Pollychris from Albacete BP, and Hugo Sánchez from SD Eibar.
In the words of Alfredo Bermejo, Director of Digital Strategy at LALIGA: "We have an exciting LALIGA FC Pro season ahead of us, in which we will see the 38 clubs give their all in highly anticipated matches, aiming to provide fans with the best competitive gaming show in the world.".
Sam Turkbas, Senior Director of Esports at EA SPORTS, added: "FC Pro Leagues will once again bring together the best football leagues and federations in the world on the virtual field. Our first year featured a record number of more than 30 partner league programs, including iconic names like LALIGA, and we hope to continue that collaboration. Together, we are offering EA SPORTS FC players and football fans more ways to celebrate the game of football, no matter where it is played."
The stops of the new season
The 2024/25 LALIGA FC Pro season kicked off last December with the LALIGA FC Pro SuperCup, where the reigning champion, Sevilla FC, represented by Nicolas99FC, claimed the first title of the season in an in-person tournament held during the Gamergy festival.
The Regular Season will start in February with two events, the first on February 25th and 26th, and the second on March 11th and 12th. Participating clubs will be divided into eight groups, competing in 1v1 format throughout the season to secure their spots in the Cup and the Finals. As a novelty this year, two rounds will be played for each group, thus expanding the number of matches in the regular season phase.
The top three clubs from each group in the Regular Season, 24 in total, will compete in the LALIGA FC Pro Cup on April 5th and 6th. In addition, the highest-ranked club in each group will benefit from starting in the second round and will be guaranteed a spot in the LALIGA FC Pro Finals. From the Cup, 16 clubs will advance, moving one step closer to glory by reaching the LALIGA FC Pro Finals at the end of the month. In keeping with tradition, in-person stops with the public, like those held in previous years in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, and Tarragona, will expand to new locations, bringing the excitement closer to their communities. Further details will be revealed in the coming months.
The prize pool of the season
The prize pool for the season totals €357,000. In the SuperCup, the first title of the season played in December, €7,000 was awarded. During April's Cup, €100,000 was distributed, with €25,000 going to the winner; €10,000 to the runner-up; €7,500 to third and fourth place; and all teams up to 24th place receiving prize money. For the final, €250,000 was left to be awarded, with €60,000 going to the club that won the championship title; €40,000 to the runner-up; €20,000 to third and fourth place; and prize money up to 16th place.
In addition, the absolute champion and runner-up will secure direct spots in the EA SPORTS FC Pro World Championship, while the four semi-finalists will earn places in the eChampions League.
