João Felix wins LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month for April

João Felix’s goal against Cadiz FC has been selected as the LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month for April, an accolade awarded by LALIGA in partnership with GolBall. The 24-year-old surprised the Cadiz defence with a spectacular acrobatic finish to give his side a victory in what was a tough away day at the Nuevo Mirandilla.

 

It was the 37^th minute of the game and the scores were level at 0-0 when the Portuguese took to the air to connect with a loose ball from a corner, which had been inadvertently flicked on by Cadiz player Alex Fernandez at the near post. Felix’s scissor-kick effort came off perfectly and the host’s goalkeeper had no chance of stopping it. It was to be the only goal of the encounter, enough to earn Barcelona a 1-0 triumph.

 

Barcelona’s number 14 came out on top of the voting to take home the LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month trophy, beating competition from Rayo Vallecano’s Isi Palazon and Deportivo Alaves’ Luis Rioja. He follows in the footsteps of team-mate Lamine Yamal, who won the award in March.
