LALIGA remains committed to fighting audiovisual fraud and the consumption of illegal content through various initiatives and legal actions. Now, thanks to the coordination of a specialized team, LALIGA has successfully shut down DuckVision with immediate effect. This pirate platform provided illegal access to live sports content, including the Spanish competition, with over 200,000 users in Spain alone.
DuckVision relied on a website that directed users to download its Android app, which had over 200,000 active users in Spain as of January 2025, according to data.ai. The platform was further protected by Cloudflare, a U.S. tech company that has faced criticism for allegedly shielding criminal enterprises for profit.
The website also provided access to pirated content and was supported by an IPTV and Ace Stream system to distribute LALIGA broadcasts stolen from networks such as ESPN, Movistar, DAZN, Sky Sports, Ziggo, and Bein Sports, among others.
The illegal content provided by the pirate platform was promoted on Telegram channels with over 13,800 users and on the DuckVision website, which had nearly 70,000 unique users in Spain as of December 2024, according to Semrush data. The shutdown of the platform and its associated channels is part of a larger crackdown on illegal streaming services. Recently, the league’s proactive approach has led to several notable successes, including the closure of other popular pirate extensions such as Luar, Kodivertido, and TVChopo. Additionally, Cristal Azul, which was considered the largest illegal streaming channel in Spain, has been shut down.
LALIGA's takedown of DuckVision is just the beginning. More pirate platforms and services will be targeted in the coming days. Meanwhile, the promoters and developers of the DuckVision platform will be reported to the police and judicial authorities with all the collected evidence.
Google, Cloudflare, VPNs, and other entities involved in facilitating piracy are becoming complicit in the illegal activities they enable and profit from. LALIGA, with the support of the justice system, will vigorously defend football and the interests of its clubs against criminal actions linked to audiovisual fraud and money laundering.
