Kylian Mbappé, LALIGA EA SPORTS Player of the Month for January

Kylian Mbappé has been chosen as LALIGA EA SPORTS Player of the Month for January, an award presented by LALIGA in conjunction with EA. The French player has scored five goals in a month in which Real Madrid have won all three of their matches, taking first place in the league and increasing their lead to four points.

The 26-year-old kicked off January by helping his side to a 2-1 win over Valencia CF, where he put in a good performance despite not scoring. Days later he was instrumental in Real Madrid coming from behind to beat UD Las Palmas 4-1 in a match in which he shone with two goals, one of them a penalty. However, the best was yet to come for Mbappé. The striker played perhaps his best game as a Real Madrid player, scoring all three goals in a 3-0 win over Real Valladolid.

The '9' of Real Madrid has won the LALIGA EA SPORTS Best Player of the Month award for the first time in his career, succeeding teammate Jude Bellingham, who won the award in December. Mbappé beat Hugo Duro (Valencia CF), Kike García (Deportivo Alavés), Luis Milla (Getafe CF) and Dodi Lukebakio (Sevilla FC) in the final vote.
