Quini's mistake

Miku continued his great run of form

Rayo Vallecano's equaliser came completely against the run of play. Paco Jemez's charges levelled the scoreline five minutes before the break. Jony's masterclass

Jony was an absolute nightmare for the Rayo Vallecano back line. The Sporting winger was Abelardo's side's man of the match. Just minutes after Rayo Vallecano equalised, Jony set up Croatian international Halilovic, who pounced on the Asturian's impressive pass from the left to make it 2-1.

In the 52nd minute

With Sporting leading 2-1, Guerrero came close to extending their lead. Showcasing his impressive technique, Guerrero found himself one on one with Juan Carlos. The Rayo keeper held his ground well and saved the Sporting forward's shot with his chest. Juan Carlos' stop kept his team in the game.

Jozabed and the woodwork

Minutes later, Jozabed made Juan Carlos' save all the more important. The midfielder levelled the scores again, taking advantage as Cuellar clumsily came off his line to clear the ball. The Rayo Vallecano player has nine goals to his name and is his team's joint top scorer with Javi Guerra. Rayo leapt into life in the final ten minutes. Embarba fired a powerful shot, only for it to crash off the woodwork. In time added on, Trashorras' header also clattered off the Sporting crossbar.
