CD Mirandes 0-2 Girona FC
Girona bagged two goals in the closing stages to keep up their charge towards LaLiga Santander. Francisco Sandaza blasted in the opener for the visitors in the 84th minute and then a Samuele Longo penalty sealed the deal shortly afterwards. The second-placed Catalans continue to boast an eight-point cushion over their closest pursuers, while Mirandes remain mired in the relegation spots.
Getafe CF 1-0 Rayo Vallecano
Jose Bordalas's side also left it late to break Rayo hearts in a gripping Madrilenian derby. Jose Antonio Dorado turned a corner into his own net in added time to gift playoff pretenders Getafe the three points, while the away team – overseen by Michel for the first time – show no sign of getting out of trouble any time soon.
CD Numancia 0-3 Cadiz CF
Cadiz nipped their two-game winless run in the bud with a comfortable victory on their visit to Soria to take on Numancia. After a goalless first half, Jesus Imaz, Ager Aketxe and Salvi in injury time secured the three points for the Andalusian outfit, allowing them to retain third place in LaLiga 1l2l3. Defeat for Numancia puts a damper on their hopes of making the play-off places.
UD Almeria 2-3 UCAM Murcia CF
UCAM signed off on a vital victory at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterraneos to boost their ambitions of staying up. Vullnet Basha put the Murcians in the ascendency, and although Ximo Navarro and Fidel turned the scoreline around, the visitors staged a comeback of their own in the second half through Iban Salvador and Tito. The result puts some breathing space between UCAM and the relegation zone, where Almeria languish for yet another week.
Sevilla Atletico 1-1 Levante UD
The LaLiga 1l2l3 leaders had their run of three consecutive wins cut short at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, where they drew 1-1 with Sevilla Atletico. The Valencians took the lead courtesy of Roger, only to later see their goalscorer sent off. The home side made the most of the numerical advantage to equalise with a goal by Fede San Emeterio. Despite the draw and two points dropped, Levante conserve a comfortable cushion at the top of the table.
R Valladolid CF 1-1 CD Lugo
There was nothing to separate these two LaLiga 1l2l3 play-off contenders. The top scorer in the division, Joselu, broke the deadlock for the visitors, but Raul de Tomas levelled for Valladolid shortly afterwards. A draw leaves both teams perched just below Oviedo in the last of the play-off places.
R Zaragoza 1-2 Nastic
Nastic managed to hoist themselves out of the relegation zone for the first time since Matchday 4 thanks to a 2-1 victory at La Romareda in the final LaLiga 1l2l3 contest of the weekend. The home team snatched an early lead through Angel, but Nastic managed to turn things around with goals by Juan Delgado and Daisuke Suzuki. The Aragonese outfit are now winless in three and slipping ever closer to the drop zone from which Nastic escape by bagging the three points.
CF Reus 1-1 R. Oviedo
The spoils were shared in style in the LaLiga 1|2|3 Matchday 27 curtain-raiser courtesy of two superb strikes. Ramon Folch's exquisite curler off a cushioned cut-back put the hosts ahead in the 28th minute, but Borja Dominguez volleyed home midway through the second half to salvage a point for the playoff-chasing Asturians.
Cordoba CF 1-0 AD Alcorcon
The Andalusians ended a seven-game winless streak and climbed out of the drop zone in the process thanks to Alejandro Alfaro's scrappy stoppage-time effort, a bundled finish from practically on the goalline after the ball had come back off the post. Although there was only one goal, the match at the Nuevo Arcangel was not short on incident – two red cards were shown and Rodri, who was replaced by the eventual match-winner, nearly scored from the halfway line in the first period. The dramatic loss will leave out-of-form Alcorcon fretting about being dragged into the relegation battle.
Elche CF 1-1 SD Huesca
The two sides cancelled each other out in this mid-table clash at the Martinez Valero, a result that does little for either team's playoff hopes. Huesca broke the deadlock just after the 25-minute mark through a venomous Alvaro Vadillo rocket from outside the box, but Sergio Pelegrin's glancing header restored parity after the interval. Elche thought that they had snatched a last-gasp winner, only to be denied by the linesman's flag.
RCD Mallorca 1-4 CD Tenerife
Tenerife blew their fellow islanders away with a stunning second-half performance to extend their unbeaten run to nine games and strengthen their hold on a playoff position. Juan Dominguez nodded Mallorca in front early on, but the visitors responded emphatically after the restart. An Antonio Raillo own goal, an Aaron Ñiguez double – one a wonder strike and the other from the penalty spot – and an Amath header secured an impressive victory for Tenerife, while Mallorca remain perilously perched above the danger zone.
