Carlos Carmona (R. Sporting)

Carmona has been one of R. Sporting's bright sparks in recent weeks, having earned himself a starting berth in the last two games in which the Asturians picked up two important victories. The first was a 5-1 thumping of Real Sociedad and the second an impressive 1-0 win away to Valencia, with the former bringing his first goal of the campaign. His next victim may well be RC Deportivo.

Pedro Mosquera (RC Deportivo)

The 27-year-old is a key player in Victor Sanchez del Amo's side, having only missed one of the 22 games so far this season. The holding midfielder's love for the Deportivo colours has made him a firm fans' favourite, to the point where the home supporters gave him a standing ovation in the fifth minute against Rayo Vallecano. Mosquera is undoubtedly one of the players to watch this matchday.

Piti (Rayo Vallecano)

The Catalan player has returned to Rayo Vallecano, where he scored 57 goals in 217 games over seven seasons. After two campaigns at Granada CF, Piti is once again at home in Vallecas, after re-signing in January. His second debut came away to Deportivo on Monday, and now the winger will be looking to make a big impact on his return to home turf.

Juanpi (Malaga CF)

The young, Venezuelan talent is making his mark in LaLiga. The 22-year-old scored against FC Barcelona and SD Eibar in January, and also provided an assist for Roque Santa Cruz for what would turn out to be the winning goal in the Basque country. Although Juanpi is still looking to refine several aspects of his game, the attacking midfielder has already started to display the immense quality that he possesses.

Luka Modric (Real Madrid)

The Croat has risen up the pecking order since the arrival of Zinedine Zidane. The team's style of passing football and desire to dictate matches through possession is ideally suited to Modric. The 30-year-old's ability to control the tempo, and his confidence when it comes to driving forward with the ball, even in difficult situations, make him the perfect midfield maestro for Real Madrid.
