Borja Bastón, RC Deportivo de la Coruña’s on loan striker from Atletico Madrid, expressed his delight for both teams after their wins over the weekend. In relation to the Galician outfit, he said "it was a very important match for us, in a difficult place [to get points from]. Our objective was to get all three points, and we succeeded". Despite winning on the weekend, Bastón is still looking to get his first goal for the team: "I want to score at home, its great to score in front of your supporters".
Deportivo is eighth in the league with 12 points and the forward is adamant that the team will continue to work hard to gain respect in the Liga Adelante. "Within the next two to three months we’ll all know our roles. The first while is all about getting to know each other. The team is acclimatising well to life in the second division", Bastón pointed out in a press conference.
Up next for Bastón and his team mates is a visit from CD Mirandés, a side that sits one point above the Galician side. After missing the match against Hércules through injury, he will be hoping to make an appearance against the Little Reds. The Madrid native has yet to return to full training because of a calf strain but is confident that he’ll be available for Saturday’s fixture. "I’ll be fine to play this weekend", he beamed.
