Mission accomplished for Getafe CF. Los Azulones remain on course to return to LaLiga Santander at the first time of asking after thrashing SD Huesca 3-0 in the second leg of their playoff semi-final tie (5-2 aggregate) courtesy of goals from Juan Cala, Dani Pacheco and David Fuster. The 2-2 draw in the first leg gave Getafe a slight edge going into the decider, while leaving everything very much to play for at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez. And Huesca looked set to give Jose Bordalas's charges a real headache early on, firing the first warning shot through a David Lopez set piece.
However, Getafe soon woke up and and started carving out chance after chance. Pacheco and Cata Diaz both tried their luck only to be denied by Sergio Herrera. In the 36th minute, the deadlock was broken when Mehdi Lacen flicked a freekick over the wall and Cala bundled the ball home from close range.
Cala took centre stage again just after halftime, failing to beat Hererra from point blank range. The Madrilenians did add to their advantage in th 63rd when Pacheco smashed a low drive home from outside the area. Fuster's fine finish settled the contest with a quater of an hour to go.
The playoff final is to be played on Wednesday and Saturday next week.
