Real Madrid latest (3rd, 44 pts):
- In his first away game, Zinedine Zidane drew 1-1 against R. Betis. The Whites' coach is returning to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, where Madrid have won their last two games.
- After leaders FC Barcelona won 2-1 against Atletico Madrid on Saturday, Zidane's men can close to within a point of second place and keep pace with the Catalans.
- Karim Benzema is in top form. The French striker has scored in his team's last four games, and last weekend grabbed the equaliser against Betis. In total, he has scored six goals in four games.
RCD Espanyol latest (13th, 22 pts):
- Constantin Galca's men drew their last match 2-2 against Villarreal CF. RCD Espanyol narrowly missed out on the three points with Villarereal's Musacchio equalising two minutes from time. To make matters worse, striker FelipeCaicedo was carried off with an injury.
- Espanyol have three defeats and two draws from their last five games. They will also be looking for some revenge after suffering a 6-0 hammering against Madrid earlier in the season.
