Real Sociedad 1-1 SD Eibar

It ended all square in the Basque derby. Ruben Peña gave SD Eibar the lead early in the second half, but David Concha maintained Real Sociedad's unbeaten pre-season record with an outstanding strike at the death. Fans enjoyed a great afternoon of exciting and competitive football.

FC Barcelona 3-2 Sampdoria

Leo Messi's man-of-the-match performance helped Luis Enrique's side lift the Joan Gamper Trophy. There was a festival of football and goals at the Camp Nou and it was Luis Suarez who opened the scoring on 16 minutes. Messi doubled Barcelona FC's lead just five minutes later. However, Sampdoria did not give up and Muriel pulled a goal back for the Italians. Messi made it 3-1 on the stroke of half time. Ante Budimir scored Sampdoria's second in the second half and the game ended 3-2.

CD Tenerife 0-1 UD Las Palmas

Michel Macedo's goal was enough to seal victory for Las Palmas in an evenly-matched game with plenty of goalscoring chances. There were barely four minutes on the clock when the Las Palmas defender opened the scoring. Despite a host of chances, that was the only goal of the game and Las Palmas took the win.

CD Numancia 1-1 CD Leganes

The home side broke the deadlock, but the Madrid side fought back until they carved out an equaliser. CD Numancia wasted no time and Julio Alvarez gave them a 1-0 lead from the penalty spot. There were no more goals in the first half, although Toni Dovale levelled the scores after the break and the hard-fought match ended in a 1-1 draw.
