Previously… José Vicente Biurrun (Sao Paulo, 1959) was a Brazilian-born Spanish footballer who played for Real Sociedad, At. Osasuna, Athletic Club and RCD Espanyol.
His achievements… He won two titles during his career (the Liga BBVA and the Spanish Super Cup), both while playing for Real Sociedad, his first club in the Spanish topflight. His first two years with the Basque outfit saw him take on the role of understudy to Luis Arconada and Pedro Ochotorena, which limited his playing time with the first team. But he was still part of golden era for the club, when the team was qualifying to play in European competitions.
After hanging up his boots… After retiring from the game as a Real Sociedad player, the Brazilian-born Spanish goalkeeper made San Sebastián his home and became a football agent.
Did you know?… He developed as a player on the beaches of San Sebastián, where he would take part in summer tournaments before he joined the Real Sociedad youth academy. Additionally, it took him 13 years to make his competitive debut with the first team, after making his return to the Basque club having gained experience with other Spanish sides.
