Previously… Savo Milošević was a Serbian striker who played for a total of four Liga BBVA sides: R. Zaragoza (1998-2000, 2001-02), RCD Espanyol (2002-03), RC Celta (2003-04) and At. Osasuna (2004-07). He played 241 matches in the Liga BBVA, scoring 91 goals.
His achievements… He was one of the most effective strikers in front of goal to have played in the Liga BBVA. In each of the four teams he played for, he scored at least 10 goals per season. He scored 38 goals in his first two seasons with Zaragoza, earning him a 25million euros move to Parma.
After hanging up his boots… He retired in 2008 after one final season with Russian outfit Rubin Kazan. He is now assistant coach to Branko Brnovic with the Montenegro national team.
Did you know… In his second season at Zaragoza he managed to score 19 goals in the first half of the season, but only mustered two more goals in the second half. He was also a key member of the Osasuna team that qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever in 2006, scoring 11 goals. He remains the second all-time top scorer for Serbia, behind Stjepan Bobek.
