Previously… Kasey Keller (Olympia, Washington, USA, 1969) was an American footballer who was Rayo Vallecano's goalkeeper for two seasons (1999-2001).
His achievements… Keller is a legendary figure in America, with whom he played in four World Cups (1990, 1998, 2002 and 2006) and won the CONCACAF Gold Cup on three occasions(2002, 2005 and 2007). He was the first American goalkeeper to play in Liga BBVA, representing Rayo Vallecano 51 times.
After hanging up his boots… He waved goodbye to football in 2011 while at Seattle Sounders in his home country. After which he has worked as a sports analyst on American television.
Did you know…? Keller retired after winning Goalkeeper of the Year 2011 in Major League Soccer aged 41. If that were not enough, in his last season as a professional, he was included in the 2011 team of the season and played for the MLS All-Stars.
