Villarreal looking for a return to winning ways

Villarreal CF will try to forget its first defeat of the season to Real Betis Balompié (1-0), in the opening clash of matchday eight in the Liga BBVA against Granada CF. However, Lucas Alcaraz's team travels to Castellón with momentum on its side after its victory over Athletic Club (2-0), its first home win.

Marcelino García Toral, the Villarreal manager, will not be able to select Francisco Farinós and Jaume Costa, but is confident they can get something out of the match to maintain the progress the team has enjoyed since its return to the Liga BBVA. “The team is doing well and is approaching this match with calm, while hoping to find another victory after the defeat”, commented the home coach.

For its part, Granada is coming into the match hoping for more points to add to its collection, having last week recorded its second win this season. Piti is unavailable to the Andalusian outfit, but Youssef El Arabi, whose two goals carried his team to victory over Athletic, is ready to play.

Alcaraz knows that in order to take any points from the Madrigal, where Real Madrid CF has already drawn, his team has to perform well, and in that regard he commented that they have to go to Castellón well prepared. He closed by saying that the team needs "to play to our strengths and perform well. We have to be capable of maintaining our rhythm for 95 minutes".
