Villarreal CF had an intense first day in the city of Adelaide. On the eve of their game with the city's local team, Adelaide United, both sides exchanged opinions about the match, which will take place at 19:30 local time (12:00 in Spain) in the Coopers Stadium.
Villarreal captain Bruno Soriano, Antonio Rukavina and coach Marcelino García Toral spoke to the media at the stadium at lunchtime, highlighting the importance of promoting Spanish football around the world.
Adelaide United, coached by Spaniard Josep Gombau, joined their counterparts from the Yellow Submarine to pose for photos on the same pitch where the game will be played. Gombau and Isaías Sánchez, one of four Spanish footballers to ply their trade with Adelaide, also praised the LaLiga World project, which allows the big clubs in LaLiga to get closer to Australian fans.
Later in the day Denis Cheryshev, Giovani and Jonathan Dos Santos had the opportunity to try out Australian rules football. Accompanied by representatives from Spanish Taekwondo who are also participating in the LFP World Challenge, the players were able to increase their knowledge of the most popular sport in Australia with the stars of Adelaide Crows FC.
Villarreal CF ended the day with a light training session in the Coopers Stadium, where the game will be played and where local and Spanish fans were able to get a glimpse of the players who will take to the field of play tomorrow.
