The Villarreal CF delegation landed at 7pm local time (11am in Spain) in the city of Brisbane, the third most populated city in the country. It marks the start of the second stage of the LaLiga World tour in Australia, following the magnificent welcome they recieved in Adelaide. The team will head to the Gold Coast, 70 kilometres to the south of Brisbane where they will spend three days before returning to the capital of the state of Queensland.
The Villarreal players will participate in various events in the city of Brisbane, lending importance to 'Marca España' (Brand Spain) and promoting LaLiga and Villarreal CF in the Australian city. On 3 June at midday (CEST) they will play their last game of the tour, ending the season at the Suncorp Stadium against Brisbane Roar, three times champions of the Australian football league, and the game can be watched on La Liga TV.
On Friday 29 May, the Spain played their first LaLiga World game against Adelaide United. Villarreal won 2-3, with goals from Manu Trigueros, Luciano Vietto and Gerard Moreno that gave the fans at the Coopers Stadium something to enjoy.
