CD Numancia returned to winning ways in the Liga Adelante by beating Real Zaragoza 2-0 in a close battle. The side from Soria played solid football to get all three points against a difficult opponent and their first home victory of the season.
The two teams provided a high-octane first half. Víctor Muñoz's men enjoyed some good football in the early minutes of the match and unsettled the Rojillos through Borja Bastón, who could have made it 0-1 after 14 minutes. Numancia's first chance followed immediately when Sergi Enrich gave his side the lead before the break with a cool header.
It was just as tight in the second half. Only a free-kick from Julio Álvarez, with eleven minutes left to play, eventually sealed the win for the side from Soria to take them out of the relegation zone. The result means that Juan Antonio Anquela's team have not lost in the competition for five consecutive matches, with two victories and three draws. For their part, Zaragoza have only picked up one of the last twelve points available and continue to search for a return to winning ways.
