This is not your average matchday for Juan Carlos Valeron. The Canary Islander is gearing up to set foot back on the hallowed turf at Riazor, the stadium where he conjured up myriad moments that the RC Deportivo fans will never forget.

For just the second time, the veteran midfielder will line up in A Coruña sporting the colours of hometown club UD Las Palmas, whom he joined after leaving the Galician outfit. The first occasion came back in 2014, down in the Liga Adelante.

Valeron will add another appearance to his haul of over 400 in LaLiga action and will once more be showered with affection by a crowd who haven't forgotten one of the top icons of their recent history. To make the occasion even more special, he will be reunited with his fellow islander and 40-year-old Manuel Pablo, who completed the same journey from Las Palmas to A Coruña and is now in the latter stages of a similarly glittering career at Deportivo.

The Riazor faithful are sure to serve up a well-earned tribute to the maestro who gave them such great service in the number 21 shirt and whose silky heyday remains forever etched on their memories.
